What made this year so different from all the other years, I wonder?

I made valuable new friends - okay maybe that was 2010 but still got closer to them ♥

dreams gained, dreams lost.

awesome collegemates that really left footprints in my heart.

love lost, love gained. Met the boyfriend at the beginning of 2011, and I think that was one of the best decisions I've ever made in my life. I've experienced so much on this journey with him - parents approval, dates, family approval/experiences etc etc. :D

went to a lousy prom with the best boyfriend ever!

shopped #likeaboss this year, went to bangkok for holiday! I really, REALLY, spent a lot this year.

worked at seminars ushering which led to learning about the foreign exchange system, worked for a trading company & got involved. I never knew there was so much to currency and stocks etc etc, and really got into it.

Modelled for REDKEN, twice, one at a hair show & one at their annual dinner. :)

Ipoh, lost world of tambun.

went for my first romantic road trip with the boy for his B'day, & threw my very first 21st birthday party for the boy & more road trips throughout the year!

Was 2011 better than 2010, you ask? About the same, with its disappointments, and with its really joyful moments.

Now all we can do is work harder next year, cross our fingers, & pray for the best.

SEPHORA craze. & pretty detailings:)

& I WISH I COULD SAY: ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS...
WORLD PEACE ♥
but besides telling you that I've already received the greatest gift of ALL, my saviour, my father & my best friend - Jesus Christ, I've got many wants of my own this festive season. I've never been much of a makeup person/take #$%#$%@#$ hours to decide what to wear person, but as I find myself approaching the big TWO-OH, I find myself wanting to take care of what God has given me before it completely disappears.

After all, you're only young once, right?

& so I headed over to Sephora that day in KLCC (yes, they have an outlet, hurray!) & got myself my first eyeshadow palette. YES, the first I've wanted and bought, I've got eyeshadows & misc makeup stuff already but they're usually single ones or gifts from people I've never used. I got NAKED. :P
but anyways, I found myself obsessing more and more at the makeup section more and more after that, and have come to a conclusion that I'm going to give it a non sceptical try. :)

& so the girl who doesn't even wash her face with normal cleanser regularly embarks on a feminine journey! :)
I think imma gonna make it a new years resolution.

So anyways, to get to the point of this post. WISHLIST!

[1] I went for makeup class a few months ago, and discovered the beauty of foundation. Wasn't really happy with how I looked in the end with the paints and all, but I LOVED my flawless skin.
So a good foundation (not the normal budget silkygirl buys) & loose powder is definitely on my wish list/ must buy list this festive season.

they say don't judge a book by its cover but I think all of us are guilty of that, even if its just time to time. I find myself automatically drifting towards romance novels with pretty sparkly covers and catchy titles. Obviously sets are the prettiest when it comes to makeup! :)
I hope the malaysia branch has it.

[3] HIGHHEELS ♥ I have many pairs already but I think the "A girl can never have too many pairs of heels" rule applies to me. At a height that towers over most malaysian girls, I still find myself obsessing over beautifully structured and colourful heels. They hurt like hell but looks gorgeous on you - men will never understand why women obsess over them so much. BUT I DOOOOOOO ♥

[4] HEDGEHOGS!!!! & so I cant have something as big as a dog or cat, but hamsters are not exactly an interactive bunch either. My new wishlist for pets (for now) These cute pokey little critters! Don't you think they're adorable? :D

was a random night but with a lot of effort put in by Vania Quah, the darling, with good food (chicken wings, butter coated fish & mango pudding, yums) & missed company. It's been so long since I've met up with the loved son (jonathan a.k.a. emily), that I had fun catching up with.

The MC for the night was another Andrew, none other than a high school friend of mine, and I think everyone would agree that it was hilarious. I missed the company so much that we headed over to mist after the party for a couple of drinks (one only for me, TQVM) & I slept over at Yen's place & had awesome fun the day after. :D

Pictures of the following day was taken via the iphone, so unless you've been following me on instagram/twitter you probably wouldnt have seen it. I had to put on my party heels from the night before + a borrowed dress - & THEN we got lost so we had fish head noodles at Cheras which was good & awesome pastry from levain! :) :)

& so, I found myself "modelling" again for REDKEN this event, as they actually offered me moolah instead of a bunch of products this time. My poor hair deserves some rest you know! :)

Chia academy when I was helping her out with a shoot told me that models have to learn to apply their own makeup in rushed circumstances or low budget events. I shrugged it off thinking nahhh models are always pampered & now I have to eat my own words LOL.

More personal shots when the stupid rotating thingy gets fixed! I think its a bug in my computer, nehh.

& so the cell group decided to head over to kissaten for a hearty meal and more shared laughter to celebrate the joint occasion of two of our members, Aaron & Brian. We got them both magic mugs that would show images when hot water is poured in, cool but kinda creepy lol.

As usual, I went with my choice of the teriyaki pork burger over there, and it didnt fail to impress, yet again. Kinda regretted not having the baby fried shrimp though. Sorry this is just a brief post im lazy and theres something wrong with my rotating tool GRRRRRR =_= no matter how many times I rotate the pictures, when i upload it it goes back to the original tilt, so please tilt your heads everyone or visit my facebook album :D

Life , with all its complexities and surprises - still seems pretty mundane and routinal sometimes.

Dont you just wish time didn't fly by so fast and you had more occasions to dress up for? Or that when the occasion arises, you'll have the time, energy and mood to rise up to it?

Friends who know me know that I almost never put makeup on - only for REALLY REALLY special occasions, and its usually done by the makeup artist.

Why do I feel like a clown when they're done with me? Makeovers, photoshoots, proms, catwalks - never once have i felt at ease with my painted face :D

Hats off to all the girls out there who manage to pull off makeup so well. I've seen such amazing transformations! :)

I still have my advanced makeup lessons to attend. I'd better sign up before it expires! :)

Sorry, I'm in a makeover mood atm. If it wasnt so late I'll probably do a top to toe pampering sesh. God knows my body needs one. Been caught with a cold again (Nothing new) so I'm really feeling low :O

(1) THINKING HORNY

was a word to describe your urge to kiss someone innocently,

& then posting a whole long blog post about you wanting to be horny

with your current crush. -13yearolds, pah.

(2) CALLING SOMEONE

a name that's not theirs over and over again,

& telling everyone something about the person using the wrong name.

(3) "ACCIDENTALLY ON PURPOSE"

miss calling your current crush and saying oops accident,

and then accidentally really call him and talk about how you did it to another friend.

(4) PERFORMING THE WRONG MOVES

just because you find out your crush was sitting right in front during a dance performance.

(5) WEARING JEANS

for a netball tournament just because you've got duty for first aid right after.

(6) THINKING VIRGIN

was only used when in reference to sex.

A church youth leader came up to me and stroked my hair when I was young,

ITHINKRIGHT, I think I'm only going to those RM12 quickcuts from now on. God knows most of the professional stylists in KL will laugh at me if I visit their salons. Walking in a shoe one size too big, with no rehearsal - DISASTER.

Everybody had a hairdo from REDKENS new looks, and mine was TEXTURE EXPLOSION.
Meticulously twisted baby ringlets all over gave me poofy hair - I was the DEFINITION of "ITS SO FLUFFY I CAN DIE" from despicable me.

It was an interesting experience though, "catwalking".
Brought home smiles, experience, nicely prepped and treated roots (they recoloured my fiery/purple red to a nice mahogany brown) and OH OF COURSE. REDKEN products.

Lafite, Shangri La :) Dad's 50th dinner.

I'm getting ravenous just remembering how everything tasted. ♥

So my dad celebrated his 50th milestone with his immediate family at Lafite, where we enjoyed ourselves immensely once again. Of course, we tried not to cringe when the bill came. :)

Some might find Lafite overrated, but I find myself having a pleasant time with the family and a pleasant meal everytime I happen to visit.

Dimly lit and private, Lafite gives you an ambience that brings peace to your mind - gone are the sound of noisy car horns, squealing babies and annoying waiters.

Your journey with Lafite begins with a glass of sparkling Evian - courtesy of the restaurant.

Whilst waiting for your meal to be prepared, the waiter brings about an assortment of exquisitely baked breads - my personal favourite is the squid ink, which some may find too tough, but I like the general chewiness.

After a happy munch on your bread, a salmon cone is given to each diner (if the chef is taking longer than usual, note that you might get two rounds :P)

I ordered Wagyu Beef seared with caviar as my starter, or something along the lines of that, with really tender and succulent meat covered with premium caviar, shaped in the slice of a cake, as seen above. I remember the price more than the name though, a whopping rm79. Trust me, it's worth it.

My main course was also wagyu beef, and my goodness im terribly sorry, Im horrible with names.

The menu isnt too filled with choices, which has its benefits and also bad points. But I assure you, of all the dishes I've tried, anything that has Wagyu in it is a safe bet.

Savour every morsel, as you're going to need that happy feeling you get deep within your stomach and the tingle in your tastebuds Lafite never fails to give to pay the bill when it arrives later. :)

4months, & counting.

HelloAgain, I'm back from the hole I crawled into. ♥

I know all of you probably thought I've abandoned this blog, but I never had that intention ever, REALLY. :)

It's just that in my life things have a way of happening that I seldom have time to write about past happenings.

I'll try my utmost best to keep this blog updated, so to the scarce few who still keep checking back everyday for updates, thankyouvery much :*, I'll try not to make empty promises.

A very recent update will be that the boyf & I "celebrated" 4 months together not too long ago. It might seem funny to celebrate your 4th month, but I think deep down all of us want excuses to do something special like have a decent meal or make that similar card you saw in hallmark not too long ago.

& thus, the 4thmonthniversary (don't laugh) was spent at the Selangor State Park, which was situated in Ulu Yam, not that far away from the ohsofamous Batu Caves.

Boyfriend and I took a trunk full of marinated meat & tidbits, and barbecued them all on a temporary BBQ pit he bought somewhere in the curve.

It's the first I've heard of disposable BBQ pits, and it's pretty cool actually!

If it wasn't for the boy being a ranger and all, I probably wouldn't know how to work it.

I was in charge of the marinating & miscellanous stuff, and heh. I didn't exactly like my own concoctions. :P

I mean, it was edible, but I just wish it had more taste. :(

I made/we had:

*honey garlic chicken wings

*potato salad

*garlic butter prawns

*Baileys with chocolate ganache

*Baileys with Nescafe (& with coke, which failed)

*Asparagus

*Capsicum.

Needless to say we were stuffed as we bought too many things for the both of us to finish. We left the pork untouched, as it was the last we were planning to eat & the place was filled to the brim with malays anyways. Disrespectful lah :/

OH OH I WENT INTO THE RIVER FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME THAT DAY! :D

the boyfriend has always been more of an outdoor person, while yours truly remains squeamish at the thought of natures most disgusting things.

I mean, I love nature.

Gorgeous breathtaking sceneries, outdoor/beach strolls, sunrises/sunsets, gorgeous flowers/trees...

EWWW. BUGS. & POOP. & ANTS. EWWWWWWWWW.

The whole scene there was, to quote the boyfriend "out of a moral textbook".

Locals were bathing in the river with their kids, swinging along the vines that draped beautifully over the river, eating their meals beside it.

If it wasn't a special occasion I wouldn't have stepped into the river.

(okay you got me there, I loved soaking my feet, its just the whole going into the river with slimy rocks and fish & pee and probable child poop that got to me.)

Went home all soaked, dirty and tired, and treated my whole family to chinese food courtesy of my new paycheck.

Well hello there! Nope, I'm still alive if you're wondering.
Status: Surviving.

I've been keeping all of you out of the loop lately, yes, and I do apologize for that.
An almost work associate of mine one mentioned : "blogging is a full time job",
I agree. But right now in my life I guess experiencing what life has to offer (the good&bads) are more important than writing about it.

Don't get me wrong - I love writing (or rather, ranting), and writing about it does allow me to go through all the memories (most of them sweet), again.
But replaying a scene might just be stopping you from jumping into another one of life's exciting adventures.

SO. CHERATING. :)
Groupon had this amazing promotion to cherating at RM120 a night for 2 persons (we fit 3 each in a room), and we decided to seize the chance before everyone went overseas to have one last outing.
I was hesitating a bit on going as I was already going with the group of friends I've been close to since high school, but Im really glad I went as I had an AMAZING TIME.

Suria Resort cherating was not exactly Club Med, but hey, it's a good deal for the price youre paying! :D
(COUGHAHEMCOUGH: I think my parents might have spoiled me a little when it comes to hotels, so it wasnt as nice as I wanted it to be, hehs:D)

BUT YES.
Adequate food, CHECK.
HYGIENE (VERY VERY IMPORTANT), CHECK.
Clean beach, CHECK
Awesome friends, CHECK.
Booze - NO WAY YOURE IN KUANTAN DUDE.

I had an amazing time from the moment I was in Dhiren's camry cruising along the highway till the day I returned home with a stomachache.
Sure, I had to suffer the red hair(newly dyed, the day before, "how smart")
Bonded quite a bit, took about a gazillion photographs, strolled along the beach, watched the stars - PURE BLISS.

I love the beach :) I might not be much of a dirt and grime jungle trekking person but im a huge sucker for amazing, peaceful sceneries. :D
It's where you just stand in awe of God's wonderful works that you appreciate life all the more.

I've never been much of a skincare/bodycare person.

The truth is, I neglect my poor body and skin - by eating unhealthy amounts of oily foods and by just sticking to cleansing (sometimes on lazy days, with water only).

I'll admit this. :) I got dragged along by Yuen who was the one who came across this offer.

It was RM20 per person - with buffet provided, a goodie bag, access to special prices and hada labo products!

Of course, if you were REAL LUCKY, you could participate in contests and win your share of prizes too.

It seemed like a good deal & I only payed RM10 for it (I'm a cheapo, don't ask who paid the other RM10 heh)

Especially with my known ability - or rather, should I say, known appetite.

The theme for the event was white with a splash of blue (DUH RIGHT LOOK AT THEIR LOGO) :D

Yuen came over to my place and we figured out what to wear together, picked up her mom and off we went! :)

It was pretty intimidating - being surrounded by, well, girly girls with tonnes of makeup and flowy dresses. Not that I had anything against them. I'm guilty of indulging in my more feminine side when it comes to clothes too. Just not makeup - YET.

Everyone was definitely dressed to impressed and as usual a small clump of photographers (the media & the like) were trying to snap pictures of the event.

Managers scurried around making sure everything was in order before the event started while the waitresses served us blue fizzy drinks.

The host, who I do not know and have not heard of (I pretty much live in my own turtle shell when it comes to entertainment news), greeted us with a very enthusiastic and ummm... chinese? hello and talked about the brand.

The brand, being japanese, hired a japanese couple to start the event off with a bang, or should I say boom as they were japanese traditional drummers.

They had an ambassador search a couple of months beforehand and ended up with 14 faces for the brand. They showed us the recent commercial for Hada Labo & the process, and of course, an introduction to their products and benefits.

HO-HUM. I'm terribly sorry, when it comes to skincare products I'm pretty much an alien.

All I know was that I had fun and they even convinced me to purchase a bottle of moisturizing lotion which I must admit, makes your skin taut and smooth even after one application. I was in dire need of something to apply on my face and hey, they gave us all special discounts.

I've yet to try the trial pack they gave me but I've tried the moisturizing lotion and so far, I'm alright with it I guess. I havent been sleeping much lately, or rather, my sleep cycles ruined, thus the presence of the 2 unsightly pimples on my nose.

I'd better start taking care of my skin - it's not going to be pimple free as long as I get my sleep soon.

Anyways, the event was held at FULL HOUSE, and I must admit, the food was above expectations.

It wasn't a wow or anything, but it was nice. :)

Environment was cozy - with many young females flooding the second floor.

Did not walk away with any prize but Auntie (yuen's mommy) won the lucky draw! She walked away with rm180 worth of products and of course, with a smile. :)

She treated us to I heart Yoghurt, a newly opened branch at Sunway Giza, which is similar to tutti frutti but seemingly healthier and less sweet. :)

Enjoyed myself despite it not really being my kind of thing, and took a few snapshots while I was at it. Still new to the whole thing! Sorry for blur pictures.

I'm still wearing a grin as I type this. Looking at his gluttonous face - how can one not smile?

This might be new to some of you, but some of you may regard this as old news.

To me it's still wonderful news - everyday. :)

It all "began" when I was studying at starbucks alone a couple of months ago - nearer to the beginning of the year. Bumped into Jonathan and he told me he was doing his psych assignment.

I was going to head to cell in GT for the very first time that night so as I was leaving I asked Jon whether I could tag along his car.

I didn't even notice him ;P He was just some dude playing chess with jon, and I didn't even see his face. :P

But anyways, long story short - he was a coursemate of jons.

Saw him in the library a couple of times when I hung out with Aaron, but he was always the "friend" of Jonathan and Aaron which I'm closer to. After the first day of HELPMUN, was supposed to head over to boardgames depot for cell - which ended in a mixup and thus resulting in a confusion over which guy would fetch me from college.

He was invited for cell that night as well and as he had to hand over an assignment he had to go to college. Thus the awkward meeting at Ali Maju. HEH. But what a meeting. I (being the ever talkative one) tried to not make things awkward (by not saying too little and being shy/saying too much) but realized that I was comfortable talking to him. We talked for an hour about everything under the sun! :)

[I'm glad I didn't scare you off :P]

Yada yada yada. Fetched me back, comfortable journey home. Then the thank you text. & then the reply to the thank you text. and the I hope I didnt scare him off text. Then the LONG phone call. Then the bedtime story :P

The rest, as they like to say - is history. :)

Officially, it's been close to 2 months now. Such a short time - but it seems like so many things have happened.

My Birthday. Prom. My exams (& him being there for me for every paper except mechanics which I screwed up, BADLY :P). Picnic. Phone calls. Hamsters. Coffees and soyabeans. More phone calls. more coffee. :P

I think the rest is just too much. :) I shall stop!

But he's mine now, and boy am I ever glad he is. I've been really broken for 2 years and I think the healing took a long process - I hated myself for that entire duration too. :/ But he's been such an encouragement to me, getting me to open up to him, settling things with me rationally, sweet simple gestures, random surprises, meeting my parents, being patient with me when I get scared - still loving me through our bad times.

Woke up at 8 a.m. on a saturday to have breakfast with Hansel! :)

MYGOSH dyou know how impossible it is to wake me up at that time - what more on a saturday :O

But I don't regret it at all :)

Had a relatively alright breakfast, walked around ss2 doing silly things like buy cloth, "marketing", visited evangel & bought lunch for my parents. Dropped it off, parents saw, left for ss2 mall for chatime and yay there was some warehouse sale thingy. He got slippers whilst I got a shirt for my brother.

AHEM. And he met my parents. so scary. He met my mom before prom, but this was his first time meeting my dad. But it went well, I think. :) He was charming, and my parents have not bought any rifle/archery bow yet. (that I know of).

Friends are akin to colourful helium balloons. Even after the helium escapes and the balloon starts falling towards the ground - the colour they leave in your memory will always be imprinted in your heart. :)

My 19th birthday was filled with such friends - and as time has proven, the helium in some of said friends will never escape. :)

It all started with a phone call from the teddy-bear, and a message from the piglet.

They know who they are. One was tear evoking, whilst the other was smile inducing. :)

Thank you all of you who bothered to text/call me to wish me.

I headed over to college groggy from the late night phone call. Being greeted by all my perky classmates with a chirpy happy birthday was far better than a good cup of coffee. In maths class, as I was busy cracking my head over the much hated integration by parts, two of my besties came in and tried to act like they didn't remember my birthday. :D

To sum it all up, when I headed over to level 2, I was greeted by all my classmates and a cake that said "Happy Birthday, Please your age." It was supposed to be please act your age, but HEEEE. :D

Thank you so much to my much loved classmates for planning and arranging the whole thing, the cake was good. :D

Was supposed to head over to Tropicana Golf & Clubhouse's japanese restaurant for a cozy dinner with the foursome. To sum it up - they weren't the only ones. :D Han suddenly appeared out of nowhere holding the helium balloons and I saw a bunch of them inside the room. :D

THANK YOU ALL OF YOU. For the balloons, the presents, the jokes, your presence in itself - THANK YOU.

You made growing old so much more memorable & less painful.

In 2 hours, I turn 19. I don't know why, but I'm not looking forward to it at all.

I remember last time - when I used to be excited all the time when my birthday was around the corner.

Now, I just feel old.

I remember someone telling me that blogging was a full time job too. I guess I haven't been having much inspiration :). I'm so sick of people who talk about you just because you're affiliated with someone/something else. It doesn't define me.

Ahhhh. I'm getting all ranty nowadays. On a lighter note, I got my Canon 450D :) :)

Zipangu - as usual, did not disappoint. Albeit the pricey exterior, the quality of the food is still succulent-ly good. Due to the recent crisis in Japan, they now import their food from various other countries. Why give up such beautiful cuisine right ?:)

The taste of raw fish in my mouth with creamy, tear jerking wasabi was GOOD.
The sashimi there was really something else, melt in your mouth raw goodness.
Ambience was romantic too ! :)

I really do love the place. Now, if only I can afford the place more often. :D

With Easter approaching, (its 2 days after my birthday), I really want to encourage all of you to take some time off and reflect upon God's grace and love.
For believers - most of us don't do it enough. I don't know about you, but sometimes we tend to get so caught up in the ways of the world that we don't spend time to truly allow ourselves to be overwhelmed by his love, and too often we truly neglect the goodness of his mercies.

99% of my life is an open book. I'm still not comfortable sharing the 1% with the world, but I am one who isn't scared to share most of the mistakes I've made, as they've opened up my eyes to a lot of things.

Without Him, I am nothing. I've already received the greatest gift of all. Have you?
As easter approaches, I'll (hopefully) post my thoughts and views on this matter and I hope you stay tuned. :D

I know that I hardly post about private affairs and emotional thoughts in this blog. In fact, I think it was only once or twice where I succumbed to temptation. I usually find writing a good form of expressing myself, and usually as this is available to public view I don't do what I did in past blogs anymore. But right now I just feel like something needs to come out, and hopefully in a weird way this could serve as a testimony of God's goodness and love.

The emptiness and emotional trauma I've been going through might not be what one call unhealthy depression, but there were just many times in the past 2 years where I felt I've reached my breaking point and desperately needed rest.

It really isn't the same when this blog isn't private. I should start getting into the habit of writing in my husband book more often. :D
Basically what I'm feeling right now is the emptiness I feel when people "like me".
Firstly, they have bad taste.
Secondly, it's so painful to see how people never look beyond what they like to see and how all those feelings only go as deep as infatuation or a liking to my physical attributes.

I really don't see why one might like me for that. But if it is, I don't like it too.
Sometimes I wish God would just keep me away from temptation and just tell me who's the one. I'm so tired of looking through the sea of them only to see predatory interest in their eyes.

You might laugh, you might scoff.
I would do both but it's so scary its not even funny anymore.
Celibacy ? :)

My life has been pretty much the same mundane cycle - Eat, Sleep, Go to college, Eat, Sleep ; You get the idea.

Ever since results were out there's a word I have to insert into my routine. Study. I'm going to graduate from A- levels soon, and I really don't want to graduate doing badly knowing that it was all because of my lack of discipline and passion. It's time for change, and I really hope it's not too late.

The truth is that I've been demotivated for a few years now - and if I choose to elaborate further you all will think I'm some depressed sod, which really, I'm not, as much as I seem to be.

Anyway, the one thing that never fails to cheer me up or motivate me is good food. I've been having frequent trips to snowflake lately, and my recent visit to CINNAMON, one world hotel has left me pining for more.

The Sushi there, compared to many hotel buffets, really, are good. Even the ones that specialize in japanese food like Jogoya & Tenji. Of course, Zipangu in Shangri-La is still the best.

Why post what I wear to college and the prices, you might ask?

I'll be honest with you - I have a higher than average amount of clothes. I wont say MASSIVE, but definitely more than required. But to show you I'm a real cheapo when it comes to college clothes - THERE. I hardly wear my "finer" clothes to college, and mostly it's all the same.

Mondays - Jeans and a tank/Sleeveless blouse. (Lab Day)

Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays - Shorts and sweater/Cotton Dress/Skirt and Tee/Shorts and oversized shirt.

If you see me in an outfit that you suspiciously feel is my pyjamas - you're probably right, those are my OH NO I WOKE UP LATE DAYS. No, they're not from the night before, they just reflect my mood at the moment. So if you see me dressed sloppily; head to toe in black - you know you should stay away :D

Chocolate Ganache Strawberries - Recipe :)

So I've pretty much been munching on strawberries a lot lately, and I thought I'd share with you guys a recipe that I use when I eat my strawberries all the time. :) It's my own variation to chocolate covered strawberries - this one is creamier and less intense.

Depending on the amount you make, you'll need :

Fresh strawberries

Whipping Cream

Bar of chocolate - of your choice.

(in my case I like using fruit and nuts, it has a tinge of chewiness to it)

Ratio of cream to chocolate 1:1

(1) Chop chocolates into fine cubes - this eases the melting.

(Warning: it is necessary to chop, because if it's not small enough, it wont melt)

(2) Pour cream into pan and heat until boiling.

(3) Immediately after boiling, pour heated cream into bowl of chocolates.

(4) Stir well.

(5) What you'll get at this stage is chocolate looking thick soup.

(6) Leave to cool, and refrigerate.

(7) When creamy texture is achieved, dip strawberries.

And you're done ! :)

Hope you liked it, I much prefer this to intense chocolate and the trouble you have to go to to melt chocolate (and only use cooking chocolate)

This way, you can have your usual favourite chocolate with your strawberries ! :)

THURSDAY, after class, one utama.

After a long day of classes, Naomi, Mun Yee & I headed over to One Utama for food. With frozen yogurt in tow - from coffee bean, we headed over to auntie anne's to enjoy the hot, satisfying texture of their pretzels.

It was fun just catching up and talking while inhaling the sweet scent of cinnamon.

Walked around HighStreet and as usual Oooh-ed & Ahh-ed over dresses and accessories.

Naomi got her spectacles done while munyee and I cam-whored, and I debated on whether to get the new sparkler series of contact lenses for rm120 - 3 pairs.

Friday, noon. Taman Megah badminton court.

Played badminton with yee en, joey, and approximately 7 of yee en's male college friends.

All I can say is I'm glad I've got my badminton feel back and I re-gripped all my old racquets.

Saw "Lee Chong Wei" again and couldn't resist myself.

SIGH. When is he going to wake up and realize I'm the one he's been looking for all the time ? :D

Friday, evening, Tian Pin Ke Ke @ SS2.

SO. A good session of badminton allowed us to be entitled to an indulgent meal. Vincent dropped us at Tian Pin Ke Ke @ SS@, and yen and I had a really happy time feeling the slick, smooth texture of our desserts slide down our throat after a long, sweaty game.

Headed back to my house and decided to both cook and bake. Baked a plain chocolate cake that tasted good but looked funny - with an overwhelming amount of whipped cream and melted chocolate as its topping. Ate maggi mee - with our favourite garlic and radish egg.

Sunday, Afternoon, One Utama.

Headed over to NewYork NewYork and dragged yee en out of her studying frenzy after church.. Ate a mediocre lunch, had my macaroons from LAVA, and walked around drooling over accessoried. I succumbed and got my contact lenses and I also got a necklace from DIVA that was pretty and on sale :D

I WANTED A RING SO BADLY. I'll see if fate allows me to get it, I spent rm 200 plus just on this trip alone.

I also made my newfound favourite soup - Cream of celery and tomato. I had leftover cream from the baking and the chocolate ganache covered strawberries, so I decided to blend celery, tomato, cream and a bit of chicken stock together. IT WAS GOOD :D

Sunday, Night, Fei Yau Long Hu hui

Situated on the same row as the famous SS2 Kayu Nasi Kandar, this is a must try for everyone. An unique combination of soup with fresh seafood, noodles are provided along with it and you're guaranteed to love it if you love seafood. A mixture of crab, squid and prawns, you're allowed to add more ingredients at your own request. Whenever I head over there, I have a minimum of 2 bowls of noodles. For garlic lovers, I suggest you add in garlic and soya sauce to taste and you'll most probably pee in your pants at the goodness of it all. Reasonably priced place, with good tasting pork ribs and asam fish. However, be warned - you can order a type of prawn called "sang ha" thats really big, supremely nice - but at rm19 per 100g. Tonights prawn costed rm50. FOR ONE PRAWN :D

okay so to sum it up I've been eating a lot, heh. Time for me to study harder and work out now. Till then. Toodles ! :D

SO. It's been pretty long since I went out with the bunch of high school mates other than my besties - the foursome. I've missed my friends drastically and I didn't realize how much until I saw them all again. It was really tiring for me as I had 7 hour back to back classes on that day - nevertheless, it was worth it.

The weather was so hot I decided to just throw on an old tank of mine. However, threw on the short sleeved hoodie to fend off perverts very commonly found in that area.

flower in my hair ! That I found annoying halfway so I took it off :D

Ben picked me up and we headed over to Picadilly's - which is in millenium square, somewhere near Jaya33. Really cheap food there and good variety. Taste, probably just tolerable.

Living in a country where its approximately 38 Degrees all year round - it's really hard to wear pretty coats & sweaters and not look like you just escaped an asylum.

What I'm currently loving right now in my wardrobe - long maxi dresses, cropped tees, sundresses and loose button tops.

I think my wardrobe's filled with impractical things such as my leopard print fur coat from zara & many many cocktail dresses that I've never worn.

I can't exactly wear them to college, can I ?

So at the very beginning of the "morning" I made a phone call to the U.S. and wished him. :)

Wasn't really happy about our condition so I was actually pretty emotional the whole day before.

Many feelings are too private to be put out here but sometimes I just want to give everything up.

Perseverance was never one of my strong traits.

However, I smiled myself to sleep due to a really sweet message and thought I fell asleep to, and suddenly valentines day alone didn't seem as lonely and sad afterall.

Chemistry class was about titrations and IVE FORGOTTEN EVERYTHING, :) then met up with friends and talked a while.

Headed over to Tutti Frutti with Mr. Ragnarok and his owner hahaha only to find that BSC blacked out.

Went to taman tun's instead, and ate to my hearts content over interesting conversations.

So basically we headed over to the florist and made a couple of bets and statements which resulted in us leaving with 3 roses - I'll leave you guys to figure out who were the recipients and who was the payee :D

Headed out with the lion to pasar malam after college and had fun catching up and eating.

I'm really tired and really lazy to elaborate already - basically I met up with a couple of friends, had a few meaningfully sweet phone calls, got a valentine kiss (more of a peck) from someone dear to me, etc, etc.

I had no specific valentine this year :D But still I think you dont need one to enjoy yourself afterall. Hey - I still ended the day with a rose on my desk, a filled tummy, many wishes, the fluttery feeling and good companionships.

So as usual, I headed over to Damai Puri Spa & Resort before heading over to my grandfather's place in Sg. Apong. Gorgeous place with a beautiful scenery, albeit a tad overpriced.
Basically just relaxed by the pool with a good book in tow and allowed the breeze to blow my worries away.

Food at the hotel is horrible and expensive though, so I wouldn't recommend your eating there, but there's a place nearby called Dayang which has been a family favourite of mine for years. Try their sotongs, bidins etc, they're fresh and deliciously affordable ! :)

Played around a lot as you can see with my LomoLomo app in my iphone, and pretty happy with it.
I think the Kaftan was a tad too big though but the Bikini I got from tanks for five at rm25 was just amazingly comfy and awesome ! :)

CNY PREPARATIONS.
I come from a large family on both sides. My dad has 11 siblings - 12 including him. So you can pretty mush imagine how the size of the reunion dinner was. I had to was approximately 300+ plates - and thats only for the first meal ! :)
My fingers are callused and rough now, but nevertheless it's a must for the women to do so in my hometown.

CNY.
I had a lot of fun eating all the snacks and chinese dinners, dressing up and collecting angpaus.
My CNY is pretty much the typical one with lots of food and angpaus - and of course, my CNY indulgence - a little gambling.
fireworks were beautiful as usual and cousins as naughty as ever :)

I've been away - thus the lack of updates recently.

I just came back from a trip to Kuching, Sarawak - my hometown and I'm dead tired!

Plus, I have college tomorrow. I'm going to die - what with my new timetable and all.

But I think other than time blogging wont be a problem for me anymore:)

One years worth of saving - I finally got my baby.

And it's worth every penny

I've been pretty much snapping pictures with the LomoLomo application which is available in the itunes store for free - with a few lenses!

You can of course, purchase the full one for 0.99 dollars, and I'm tempted to.

It was worth the saving - worth the getting out of bed early to queue at the maxis centre.

At RM1690*, I signed up for the 1-year RM100 plan.

If you're not going overseas next year - which I hopefully will still, I suggest you get the 2 year plan for this and a 16GB one can be yours for only RM 990! :)

I'm happy with the range of data plans. They have quite a wide range of plans to suit the different needs of the users, so i suggest if you have some angpau money left you consider an iPhone !

I will post more about my CNY tomorrow as I've to finish the due designs for the yearbook tomorrow - I'll touch up the pictures a bit.

As all of you already know- I'm currently doing my Edexcel A-Levels at HELP University College.

And I'm in the midst of my second term exam. :)

The papers this year were harder than the past years, but there were a few papers that were alright.

Thus my resolution to not slack anymore and study last minute after this. I need motivation =_= I think I finally found some though :)

So I was studying biology and scribbling "girly hearts" on my self made notes, as Jack calls it, when I had an overwhelming urge to scribble even more.

I saw a pack of marshmallows and my edible food colouring marker pens & thus - the result ! :)

YAWN. You have no idea how tired I am right now. I decided to go into coughing fits throughout the night - and I'm suffering the consequences.

So, before I get my Iphone I thought I'll tell you guys a story about my unfortunate experience with maxis, and why I'm reverting to postpaid again.

MAXIS CUSTOMER SERVICE.

I went to the taman tun branch after much consideration - and wanted to revert to the Hotlink Youth Club plan ; which was slightly cheaper than my current one, and I wanted to control my phone bill anyways.

Excitedly, I told a fella over there I wanted to do so. He told me it was not possible anymore and I had to buy a new number if I wanted to.

Disappointed and crushed, another maxis promoter told me I still could, and got me a number.

I went ahead, did the usual procedures, signed some papers of release and was told I had to activate it myself after 3 days.

So I waited. AND WAITED. AND WAITED.

I couldn't do it no matter how many tried attempts.

After calling customer Service - they told me, it was just not possible.

SIGH.

Thus the always running out of credit dilemma recently.

A message costs around 33 cents you know, damn it? To a fellow maxis user.

Postpaid it is then. I sincerely hope Maxis wouldn't disappoint me again.

A dress can't hide everything :)

I've been fooling around with the lightings around photoshop a little as there's no paper tomorrow.

Decided to post a little or too many things will slip by unposted.

The white dress I got for rm 65 only at a bazaar, hoping to wear it for CNY & a friends prom :)

I'm a cheapo. Live with it :)

Mommy&Daddy just returned from Singapore for a cousins wedding. Mommy returned with loads of CNY goodies that I'm not allowed to touch, and the dress I'm wearing in the latter pictures!

I love my mom. Really. Despite telling her again&again that she's old and menopausal. The dress is from future state; and they really do have pretty pieces for the younger generation - but my mom's love for florals are just . too. mature. I told my mom thankyou & really I am really thankful, but I think I shall reserve this dress for dinners with the older generation :)

2010 regrets&2011 resolutions.

I know this is almost an entire month late, but do know that It's been a crazy 2 months for me recently.

If I'm not out - I'm "studying" for my exams.

2010 was a relatively low year for me.

- Someone I cared about very much, for the longest time ever, left to a faraway country :)

- I failed my driving exam countless times; because stuff kept happening right before or during.

my reasons for failing my hill etc. weren't of the normal type. :)

elaborating will cause it to be rather draggy.

- SPM results were horrible, A-levels alright but nothing to shout about either, for the sciences.

- Year started with my getting grounded for getting lost and coming home late (cell phone batt. died, so no way to contact anyone)

- Spiritually? wandering all the time. I felt so lost; devoid of direction.

Basically in 2010 I regret not setting my priorities straight, but still God found a way to fix me :)

i was in a dreamland (a trance) - or rather, a nightmare.

Everything didn't matter because I was down in the dumps all the time.

On a lighter note, 2010 also had it's ups.

I met wonderful friends in college (you know who you are;P)

Started improving myself in various areas.

GREW TALLER ! :D

Had a wonderful trip to Australia&NewZealand; which really fixed things for me.

Co-Commanded College's CF camp, which was a ball of fun.

Got my whole Adobe CS collection which Imma gonna play with more often after exams.

SO. RESOLUTIONS? :)

No more last minute please. I'm suffering the aftereffects.

Being Lazy & Complacent is horrible. It's time I start thinking about my future.

Grow another 1/2cm?

Imma gonna be 50kg by the end of this year. (hey, I've got to be realistic)

Intern in a vet clinic, decide between vet science and oncology.

Wake up earlier.

Stop spending so much.

A project I have in mind - that involves blessing other people.:)

Revive S.O.A.R.

Grow in faith; step out of my comfort zone.

So that's about it, I'm pretty realistic&boring.

Christmas @ My Place .

So, Christmas eve was spent with the family this year, as my relatives flew here from Kuching.

The feeling? Well I'll be honest and tell you that it was definitely different from the recent few years - not having something to prepare for the Church's Christmas party/Christmas party with friends/Countdown.

But one thing I've learnt is that Christmas is Christmas - no matter where you are.

It's a day celebrated in honour of Jesus, so wherever in the world you may be - Christmas is still beautiful.

Time spent with the family was good - you really have to start appreciating your family for all its quirks. Despite all of it, they are, afterall, your family, and I don't know about yours - I know mine will stand by me through thick & thin ; through it all.

The food spread was heavenly, and it helped too that my Dad's side of the family had small appetites :) I was the fattest female there. I'm not kidding you. I think whenever I fly back to KCH for CNY, they would look at me - utterly appalled at the amount it eat and the fat I seem to carry around with me wherever I go ;P

But still. We laughed and ate - I played with my two little cousins who pull off bangs so well; laughed as we each sat near the Christmas tree and Santa's two little helpers delivered our gifts.

I would say I'm very contented with what I received for Christmas this year. But I've always been. Because I've received the best gift of all.

So here I am, probably a few KG's heavier, a few hundred dollars poorer, but a million times happier.

SO. Instead of studying (the day before Christmas) , I woke up in the mood to bake.

So , baking it was .

I basically tried two new recipes I found online , Chocolate Muffins & Chocolate Chunk cookies.

The taste was there , definitely , and I would recommend chocolate lovers out there to try it. :)

I made a slight alteration in the recipe though - I was scared it wouldn't be sweet enough , so I added semi-sweet chocolate chips instead of the normal one , and a teaspoon of cinnamon .:)

The dollop of ugly powder was my doing - icing sugar and cinnamon.

It was almost dinnertime when I was done, so I was too lazy to make the icing as I had to clear up as well .

Couldn't stick to my usual chocolate Ganache as i didn't want to waste the cream.

Bali Part 1 :)

So, as most of you know - if you've been following my twitter, I have just returned from the land of Bali , Indonesia. :)

The duration of my stay was 6 days, and I did have an enjoyable time there.

Granted, I wasn't used to not having much to do except lounge around or shop, but the feeling was a welcome break from all the emotional turmoil I seem to bring upon myself all the time.

THE FLIGHT .

It was a refreshingly short flight - 3hours. All I can say about it was that it was quite enjoyable, as we had Forrero Rocher - MY ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE , and tiny tubs of vanilla Haagen Daaz ice cream. Forgive me for sounding like a child, but I do find joy in the simplest things. Vanilla ice-cream is my favourite.

We arrived in Denpasar airport & met my mother's sister (&family) after collecting our luggages. A man holding up our villas name greeted us at the entrance, and shuttled us all to the villa.

Mommy brought so many empty luggages. Can you imagine, 7 of us had to travel in TWO shuttle buses? :)

THE VILLA .

My reaction when I first steeped into the Villa was - okay this is the lobby ; where then do I stay ? When my dad told me we had the whole place to ourselves, I gave in to my inner bimbo and just went OMG OMG OMG all the way.

Example .

"OMG THERES A POOL"

"OMG THERES A JACUZZI NEXT TO THE POOL"

"OMG WE ARE ABOVE A KOI POND"

"OMG THERE ARE CANOPY BEDS"

"OMG WE HAVE OUR OWN PERSONAL CLEANERS & CHEF"

& ... you get the point .

The Villa was beautiful - TV's situated everywhere, vast open spaces, beautiful water features, our own bar, etc. Will post up pictures in the next post :) Forgive me for acting like I just came out of some well, but I definitely am unaccustomed to living the high life.

It was a treat for all of us. Considering the fact that there were 7 of us, and also all the luxuries we had - the price we paid was pretty reasonable. 599 US dollars a night.

The pictures above are what we did on the - second day, I think. It was night when we arrived. Boat ride, beach, turtle farming? I personally felt a twinge of guilt upon seeing all the turtles being cooped up like that - and we were encouraging them by visiting. But at least they were in the beach and they weren't selling eggs - not in the open , at least.

It's dusk, and I should sleep now. I promise I'll continue, and with more updates on what I've been up to lately! When I have a life-I just have no mood to blog :)

And sometimes, even colleges surprise you.

This 8th of December, 2p.m. at the main block lower foyer, meet Edward James Olmos, his adopted son Michael Olmos & Nickson Fong for an informal tea party. They are here to work with H.U.C. on their upcoming animation school. Early birds even stand a chance to win autographed copies of the ChopChops poster!

Most of you will probably be asking "who are they?".

Edward James Olmos

Edward Olmos is what one might call a Jack of all trades . An actor, producer, director and also a community activist, his long list of accomplishments would probably engulf this entire page.

Through youtube-ing recent interviews about him etc., I think it is befitting to say that I was tremendously blown away. It is an unquestionable fact that he has achieved much in the film industry. Though I have not been blessed enough to be familiar with most of his work (sorry, like I said, chick flick kind of person) :), a character most of you would be familiar with that he voiced over would be none other than El Diablo, the evil Doberman from "Beverly Hills Chihuahua", a recent Walt Disney production.

I found this character most hilarious. I think it is safe to say that a man who dared voice over such a character would indeed, have a fair sense of humour.

An adequate amount of talent & experience had to come into play in his acting/producing roles.

But all these film achievements can only be described as the icing on the cake.
What I personally was most impressed with was the unbelievable amount of involvement he had in various humanitarian issues. An ambassador of UNICEF, this man was not afraid, unlike many others, to take his stand for what he believed in. Giving talks, participating in protests-he was a man that saw a better side of humanity; the light at the end of the tunnels - believing that one individual can make a difference in this world.

In one of his talks I remember him saying that the greatest contributors to humanity are all humans - not different ; if at all, from all of us. For example, who was Mother Theresa if not, human?

We can do no great things, only small things with great love. ~Mother Teresa

I shall not reveal too much and thus, shall elaborate no further. A truly talented & inspirational man, I strongly suggest you empty your schedule this wednesday. It'll be worth it.

Nickson Fong
Founder of Egg Story Creative Production (ESCP) & Egg Story Digital Arts Academy (ESDAA), this is one man you'll want to check out. In having worked in many production companies responsible for major films in the animation/visual effects/technical development department - with Stuart Little, Shrek, Godzilla among the many he has worked for.

I think no review would do his work justice - one will have to see his work, to ultimately gauge how talented this guy truly is. Attached is a short clip directed by him. You can also, of course, search for many more in youtube.

This is an honest summary of my personal views regarding the event, and what I have deduced from reading and watching interviews and finished products.

With these two working with HELP for their upcoming animation school, I'm highly positive things will work out fabulously.

So I highly suggest you visit them with an open mind, & bring your friends along too ! :)
